EJ DELPHI

At the Copenhagen International Furniture Fair 2007 Erik Jørgensen reveals an international novelty. Together with the Swiss architect Hannes Wettstein and his team Erik Jørgensen have developed a new modular sofa concept, Delphi, with 11 different modules which give many possibilities for an individual and unique sofa solution. It is possible to use the chaiselounge length in to ways – as a chaiselounge or by turning the module and use it as a long seating cushion in a traditional sofa format.
The sofa supports the development of the modern family’s lifestyle. An active and outgoing lifestyle for the whole family requires a comfortable and relaxed base at home which Delphi provides with its many seats and resting positions - all in the same sofa.
Delphi is spacious and has interesting construction dynamics emphasized by the sophisticated details. The sofa primarily appeals to the home market because of the two depths in the seat and loose cushions. The asymmetry between the different seating depths is repeated in the back- and arm rests. This stimulates not only the body that rests in the sofa but also the eye that looks at it.
The series consists of several accessories e.g. a tray that fits the arm rests, a blanket, footstools in different sizes and a petplace for the four-legged members of the family.

seat-table-seat

?seat-table-seat?
So you spent a near fortune on a perfect sofa and coffee table for that great party you are going to throw, but true to human nature, most of your guest will invariably end up in or around the kitchen. They are, after all, only human and adapting to the fact that all the booze and grub is flowing from the kitchen area. It was this adaptive nature in all of us that inspired this social seating design by Tab Turnmire. Let’s face it, when socializing people will sit on almost anything. So designing a seating area that can adapt from table top to seat was a stroke of near genius. Perfect for any lobby or coffee shop layout, these seats/tables/seats easily make sense…how ever you look at it.
